I participate in the Beanstalk county food program. As part of the food program, specific requirements must be met in providing a healthy, balanced diet.
An example of the requirements for a child over 1 year include:
- One serving of milk with breakfast and lunch.
- One serving of a fruit or vegetable with breakfast, and two servings with lunch.
- One serving of a grain with breakfast and lunch.
- One serving of a meat or meat substitute with lunch.
- One serving of any TWO of these categories for the afternoon snack.

Every weekend I try to make it to the Farmer's Market in our area to get fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables.
